Haiti.

An entire year has passed since that devastating quake struck and shattered the lives of so many innocent people.

A lot has been done, many lives saved, children and families sheltered, but I can tell you first hand that there is much left to do, so many to help, and millions that are in desperate need.

My recent trip was nothing short of mindblowing. The challenges facing this beautiful and broken country are beyond enormous. Haiti is buried in its past, figuratively and literally, but with the assistance of its friends, neighbors, and most importantly itself, it will rise above the ashes of its unfair history and one day, race toward the brightest of futures.

It’s impossible not to feel that spirit, that culture, that humanity everywhere you go there. From a smile, a handshake, a laugh, the food, the dance, the art, the people, their struggle, their resilience, their passion, to their their celebration of life even in the face of the most traumatic incidents a nation has ever experienced there is a magic there alive and well.

Haiti.
Un intero anno è trascorso da quando il devastante terremoto ha colpito e distrutto levitedi molte persone innocenti.
Molto è stato fatto, molte vite sono state salvate, bambini e famiglie hanno trovato rifugio, ma io posso dirvi di quanto ci sia ancora da fare, molte persone da aiutare e milioni che hanno disperato bisogno di aiuto.
Il mio recente viaggio è stato incredibile. I cambiamenti che questo bellissimo e distrutto paese deve affrontare sono enormi. Haiti è stata "seppellita" nel passato, figurativamente e letteralmente, ma con l'aiuto dei suoi amici, vicini e soprattutto di se stessa, sta risorgendo dalle sue ceneri della sua storia storia ingiusta e un giorno, correre verso il suo più brillante futuro.
E' impossibile non percepire quello spirito, quella cultura, quell'umanità ovunque si vada lì. Da un sorriso, una stretta di mano, una risata, il cibo, la danza, l'arte, la gente, le loro battaglie, la determinazione, la loro passione, la loro celebrazione della vita anche di fronte agli incidenti più traumatici che una nazione abbia mai vissuto c'è una magia lì viva e sgorga.
